Works by Klim Stepanov have an interesting interpretation of form. Seemingly simple on the outside they are full of appreciable content. Most compositions of the master are static enough. His works are filled with inner energy of deep philosophic reflections. Complexity of emotions experienced by the characters is sensed keenly in the works. Works of Stepanov are intimate, neat and quiet, there’s no unnecessary moves and dynamics in them, the artist discovers the inner world of every character to a spectator at full breath and tells his story.
The sculptor works easy with various materials — from his favorite wood to bronze. He chooses eternal themes, picking them out often from everyday life but interprets them as original, mythological fables. In concept works of Stepanov are generalized enough and integral. He puts accents precisely and interprets form without extra elaboration outlining simple graphic silhouettes. Peace and quiet are felt in the works of the artist, his characters stand still calm and collected in the eternity of time interweavings. Slight decoration of form that sometimes shapes up of a few lines adds a personalized authentic ascetic touch to the works.
Participates in national and international exhibitions, open airs, auctions, contests since 1991.
A member of the Ukrainian Artists Union since 2000.
